Who Owns This Site
Short answer
Swelter Almanac has the same owners as four businesses, and the twelve pages that link to them say so beside every link.
Updated
The four businesses
Swelter Almanac and these businesses have the same owners:
- PlumbingSupplyAndMore.com, a plumbing and HVAC supply house.
- Central Plumbing HVAC, a heating and cooling company in Pennsylvania (Bucks and Montgomery County).
- SoftPro Water Systems (owned by the people who run Swelter Almanac), a water-treatment shop.
- Quality Water Treatment (owned by the people who run Swelter Almanac), a water-treatment shop.
Swelter Almanac itself is not an HVAC contractor and does no installs or repairs; more on that is on about Swelter Almanac.
Where partner links appear
Partner links appear on twelve pages, chosen because a part, a listing or a water test fits what the page explains. No other page links to these businesses, and the home page carries none.
| Page | Business | What the link shows |
|---|---|---|
| Cooling in dry desert heat | Quality Water Treatment | A hardness test reagent, for knowing your water hardness |
| Swamp cooler water, scale and pads | SoftPro Water Systems | A water test kit, for checking hardness before setting bleed-off |
| Cooling in humid heat | PlumbingSupplyAndMore | A float switch for a secondary drain pan (a technician fits it) |
| Dehumidifiers vs air conditioners | PlumbingSupplyAndMore | Condensate pumps |
| When the A/C leaves the house clammy | PlumbingSupplyAndMore | Condensate pumps |
| Thermostat settings for hot summers | PlumbingSupplyAndMore | Programmable thermostats |
| When the A/C can't keep up | PlumbingSupplyAndMore; Central Plumbing HVAC | Registers and grilles; an example of a local company's A/C service page |
| A/C maintenance before the heat | PlumbingSupplyAndMore | Filters; condenser pads |
| When the A/C dies in a heat wave | PlumbingSupplyAndMore; Central Plumbing HVAC | Capacitors (a technician's job); an example of a local company's A/C service page |
| Attic ventilation in hot climates | PlumbingSupplyAndMore | Foil HVAC tape for duct joints |
| Ductless mini-splits for one room | PlumbingSupplyAndMore | Mini-split and line set listings (installed by a certified technician) |

How the links are labeled
Each of those pages carries a short box stating that Swelter Almanac and the linked businesses have the same owners, and a plain note follows every link in the text. Links are ordinary links, plainly visible, and they are not given a "sponsored" attribute, because the label on the page says it in words. Store prices are never quoted.
What the links do not change
Partner links never change a figure on a page. Every number comes from a primary source, such as ENERGY STAR, EPA, the CDC or a university extension service, and is the same whether or not a page has a partner link. No page tells a reader to buy anything, and parts that only a professional should fit are shown so you can recognize what a technician installs, not as an invitation to do it yourself.
